Doxycycline.
Doxycycline has been designed for the treatment of infections caused by bacteria. It works by preventing the bacteria from growing and multiplying. If you are taking any antacids make sure to wait for at least 2 hours before you can safely take doxycycline to avoid interactions for both treatments to be effective. Report any medical conditions you have to your health care provider in advance – such as liver or kidney disease for instance, your dose may need to be adjusted to make sure you will benefit from the treatment without suffering from any serious side effects. Serious side effects of doxycycline are unlikely but still possible and can include red skin rash, body aches, urinating less than usual, loss of appetite, easy bruising or bleeding, blurred vision, dizziness, severe pain in your upper stomach, severe blistering, flu symptoms, peeling, confusion or weakness, pale or yellowed skin, severe headache, or yellowing of the skin or eyes. In most cases this drug will cause just a few mild side effects, such as trouble swallowing, sore mouth, vomiting, mild nausea, sores or swelling in your rectal or genital area, stomach upset, swollen tongue, diarrhea, and vaginal itching.
